Contra Dance Caller and
Dance Instructor
Martha Wild has been calling contra dances for over 20 years in the Southwest. She regularly calls for contra dances in San Diego, and enjoys bringing community dance to people of all ages, including calling at festivals and schools in the region. With clear and concise teaching, she is able to provide a fun and confidence-building experience for newcomers and seasoned dancers alike. Martha surprised all in 2011 when she brought a half-dozen mountain dulcimers and taught the self-proclaimed "musically-challenged" how to play some tunes on the instruments. She did the same again in 2012, and as those who participated will attest, her "dulcimer for dolts" gatherings had a heck of a good time.
