The Julian Family Fiddle Camp is honored to be associated with a number of organizations that support its mission and activities. Indeed, gracious individual donors, and the wonderful generousity of the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association, enables the Julian Family Fiddle Camp to accept applications for partial scholarships that offset some of the camp costs for youth or seniors who attend the camp.
To receive a partial scholarship, an applicant must be:
The scholarship application itself is very simple, and entails the submission of a short letter that:
-
States the scholarship applicant's need, desire and musical aspirations.
-
If the applicant is under 18 years of age, his/her application must include a seperate note from either a music teacher, friend or musical mentor who confirms the applicant's interest and ability.
Meeting the above criteria is requisite for consideration, but does not guarantee the award of a partial scholarship. Amounts and the number of awards will be determined by available funds, the number of applicants, and the strength of one's request. While not required, it is helpful if an applicant or his/her family is a member of an organization that supports and promotes the playing of traditional acoustic music.
It is recommended that letters in application for partial scholarships be submitted early, and best if done at the same time one submits the initial deposit and signed registration material. The address for submitting all material is:
